Jing is the essence carried from the mother’s womb into one’s own life. It is not something that can be duplicated, but there are choices one can make to reserve precious Jing. It is the individual’s responsibility to use Jing wisely; Jing is extremely difficult to replenish once depleted. Individuals must find a lifestyle that suits their personality and their capabilities, as all humans are created differently. Excess work, play, intimacy etc. leads to exhaustion of Jing and can cause chronic fatigue. Other symptoms may include weak kidneys, reproductive functions, immune system and disease. A poor choice of lifestyle is not worth the overexertion and loss of invaluable Jing.
